FSSAI Registration
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to ensure food safety and regulation in India. Founded under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, FSSAI is responsible for protecting public health by regulating food safety across the country. Types of FSSAI Licenses in India
FSSAI licenses in India are categorized based on the business’s turnover, type, and production capacity. The three main types of FSSAI licenses are:
FSSAI Basic Registration:
This is for Food Business Operators (FBOs) with an annual turnover of less than Rs. 12 lakhs. The registration is simple and the application is made using Form-A.FSSAI State License:
This license is required for FBOs with a turnover between Rs. 12 lakhs and Rs. 20 crores or those involved in medium-scale food businesses. It is issued by the State FSSAI Authority.FSSAI Central License:
This is for larger food businesses with a turnover exceeding Rs. 20 crores or those involved in large-scale manufacturing, import, or export of food products. It is issued by the Central FSSAI Authority.
